November 14, 2015 is the date the "plant good deeds in Romania" – national afforestation initiative on a voluntary basis – will begin the most extensive afforestation in Romania.
"With this action we want to demonstrate that through a strong partnership between the authorities and civil society can bear the largest share of afforestation in Romania.
Since the office taking as minister, the situation of forests in our country was one of my main concerns. Our strategy began with legislative changes, the adoption of the new Forest Code and continued with the prevention and control, improving the Radar for Forests and Forest Guards establishment.
This action is part of the third pillar of our strategy and concerns the extension of national forest. For our part, we will contribute with resources into action and expect a massive participation of the population, "said Gavrilescu Graţiela, Minister of Environment, Water and Forests.
Ministry of Environment and Forests and Waters will be the institutional partner of this ample approach, by which 1,000,000 trees will be planted on unproductive public land. The trees will be cared for more years until reaching maturity.
Under the slogan "We Plants ! We Take care ! Afforestation ", the" We plant good deeds in Romania "invites those interested to be involved in increasing forest area of the country.
Action from 14 November is initiated by the EcoAssist in Bucharest, together with five non-governmental environmental protection in Romania and has the institutional partner the Principal Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests who through NFA and ROMSILVA will provide free seedlings needed and assistance specialized in all plantations in what volunteers will be involved.
The initiative is still from 2013 under asupicices of patronage of Patronage of Princess Margarita of Romania, which attest to the dedication and quality of work of all members and partners involved in the initiative.
Thus, Romanians can involve either the organization plantations official project "plant good deeds in Romania", either by organizing independent actions (on land located in schools, kindergartens and spaces around apartment blocks and other vacant premises of interest in local communities) or reforestation projects of other organizations which runs closer to them.
