\tEuropean Commission<\/span> requests Romania<\/span> "<\/span>submit<\/span> details<\/span> on the implementation<\/span> of EU legislation<\/span> into national law<\/span> in<\/span> two different areas<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> waste<\/span> –<\/span> packaging waste and<\/span> end of life vehicles<\/span>."<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\t"<\/span>The revised Directive<\/span> on packaging<\/span>, which extends<\/span> the scope of<\/span> the original<\/span> Directive<\/span>, clarifying<\/span> the distinction<\/span> between<\/span> what constitutes<\/span> packaging<\/span> and what not<\/span> to reduce<\/span> packaging waste<\/span>,<\/span> to be transposed<\/span> into national law<\/span> by 30 September<\/span> 2013,"<\/span> reads the<\/span> EC<\/span> .<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to him,<\/span> Romania<\/span> has not complied with<\/span> this term<\/span> and as a result<\/span>,<\/span> on 29<\/span> November 2013<\/span> was sent<\/span> a letter of<\/span> formal notice.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tIt states that<\/span> in January<\/span> 2014<\/span> Romania<\/span> responded<\/span> stating<\/span> that it is<\/span> drafting a<\/span> government decision<\/span>.<\/span> Considering<\/span>, however, that<\/span>,<\/span> so far,<\/span> the Commission<\/span> has<\/span> not<\/span> notified<\/span> any action<\/span> it launched<\/span> an<\/span> infringement<\/span> (<\/span>reasoned opinion<\/span>)<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tA<\/span> second<\/span> infringement procedure<\/span> refers to<\/span> amend<\/span> EU<\/span> standards<\/span> ELV<\/span>.<\/span> Change<\/span> to be transposed<\/span> into national law by<\/span> 22 August<\/span> 2013.<\/span> Having received<\/span> no notification<\/span> in September<\/span> 2013, the Commission<\/span> sent a letter<\/span> of formal notice<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to the<\/span> EC<\/span>,<\/span> Romania<\/span> responded that<\/span> appropriate legislation<\/span> is<\/span> in preparation<\/span>, but<\/span> "<\/span>so far<\/span> received no<\/span> any<\/span> notification, the Commission<\/span> sent<\/span> a reasoned opinion<\/span> now<\/span>"<\/span>, and Bucharest<\/span> has two<\/span> months to respond<\/span>,<\/span> otherwise they might<\/span> be<\/span> sent<\/span> to the Court of<\/span> Justice.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
