\n\tThe current model is to be scaled up for use in next-generation turbines<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 3MW drivetrain was fitted to the W2E-120\/3fc turbine in the summer,  before being installed on the 100-metre tower. The turbine is set to be commissioned later in October.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tWinergy claimed its drivetrain is 35-50% shorter than standard models. It achieves this through using a two-stage planetary gearbox and a permanent-magnet generator. Both individual components have an efficiency of 98% resulting in a system efficiency of around 96.5%.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe current 3MW version has a nominal torque of 2,550 kilonewtons per metre and a weight of 34 tonnes including the oil supply system, making it lighter than other 3MW drivetrains.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter successful prototype testing of the HybridDrive on system level in September 2012, the product was certified by TUV Rheinland in April 2013.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe ultimate intention is to create a drivetrain for the next generation of turbines with power ratings of 6-7MW.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
