They consist of a tall tower, a rotor, a generator, a controller, and other components. Most horizontal axis turbines built today are with two or three blades.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<span style=\"font-family:tahoma,geneva,sans-serif;\">The &nbsp;horizontal axis turbines are up on towers to take advantage of strong winds and less turbulence, &nbsp;30 meters or more above the ground. Each blade acts like an airplane wing, so when the wind blows, it creates a low-pressure form of air on the bottom of the blade. This low pressure air form drags the blade toward her, causing the rotor turning. The lifting force is actually much stronger than the wind in front of the blade, which is called pulling.
