A peak power pack sold for 100 lei / MWh. The seller was a company that operates a photovoltaic park. No traditional producers such as power plants, hydropower plants or Nuclearelectrica can sell below 150 lei.
Energy Distribution Services, an energy trader, bought the current at 100 lei / MWh in a contract exceeding 8071 MWh in August 2014 to the end of 2015, the seller is RODAL Cargo transport company in Craiova, operating a photovoltaic park in Dolj county, according to economica.net.
The price at which the transaction was made is the lowest ever recorded by OPCOM on bilateral long-term contracts, especially since the peak energy sold is the most expensive.
The previous record was 110 lei / MWh and the date of the beginning of this year. Energy was sold very good.
The average price of transactions on OPCOM is falling steadily for more than a year due to the entry of large amounts of energy from renewable producers. Thus, if two years ago the average price was about 230 lei / MWh, now are usually transactions at 150 lei / MWh.
Companies operating wind farms and solar are the only that managed to conclude long-term contracts on the stock, with prices under 150 lei. In some cases, such as the one above, the quantities contracted are hundreds of thousands of MWh. Other producers present on OPCOM (power exchange operator), thermal, hydro or nuclear, can not sell at the price of renewable energy companies.
