Wind energy – Technology

why i like wind power    Why I like Wind Power, Video Playlist !

Wind energy is used for practical purposes like generating electricity, charging batteries, pumping water or grinding grain.

The widest variety of wind energy technologies can be used as stand-alone applications connected to an existing network of power, or even combined with a photovoltaic system. For convenience, a large number of wind turbines are usually built close, forming a wind farm that provides power to a network.

There are electricity providers that use wind farms to power their own customers.

Some homeowners and farmers in windy areas can also use small wind turbines to generate electricity. Find out more about wind systems based on wind from the energy-saving.

A recent Reuters opinion column by John Kemp and the report it references are simply asking questions that have already been answered, and the answer is that wind energy produces the expected pollution reductions because wind has virtually zero negative impact on the efficiency or emissions of fossil-fired power plants.

Wind power has the potential to be used in a home environment only in the right circumstances, and has the potential to power everything your home needs, from electric radiators to hot water. In this instance, I’m going to focus on the electrical side of things, and how you can use mainly use wind turbines to power the electricity in your home, and even make money selling it back to the grid.

          WIND TURBINES

TURBINE CU AX ORIZONTAL

Although all wind turbines operate on similar principles, more varieties are currently used. These include both horizontal and vertical axis turbines.

       TURBINE CU AX ORIZONTAL

Horizontal axis turbines are the most common. They consist of a tall tower, a rotor, a generator, a controller, and other components. Most horizontal axis turbines built today are with two or three blades.

The  horizontal axis turbines are up on towers to take advantage of strong winds and less turbulence,  30 meters or more above the ground. Each blade acts like an airplane wing, so when the wind blows, it creates a low-pressure form of air on the bottom of the blade. This low pressure air form drags the blade toward her, causing the rotor turning. The lifting force is actually much stronger than the wind in front of the blade, which is called pulling. The combination of lift and drag causes the rotor to spin like a propeller and the crankshaft spins a generator to produce electricity.

     VERTICAL AXIS TURBINE

Vertical axis turbine is of two types: Savonius and Darrieus.

Darrieus turbine was invented in France in the 1920s. Often described as similar to a phone , shows vertical blades that rotate through the wind. Using aerodynamic lift,  can record more energy than sliding system devices. Giroturbine and cycloturbine are variants of Darrieus turbine.

Savonius turbine is S-shaped when viewed from above. This type of turbine spins relatively slowly, but shows a return with a high couple. Is useful in grinding grain, pumping water, and many other tasks. Because of the small rotation speeds they are not good for generating electricity.

In addition, the windmills are used for a variety of purposes. Windmills have been used by man, with at least 200 BC, for grinding grain and pumping water. Around 1900, windmills were used to pump water in farms and, later, to produce electricity. Windmills have more blades than modern wind turbines, and they rely on the slide for rotating the blades slide into.

Wind energy can be produced anywhere in Romania, especially where wind blows with a powerful force and coherence. In those locations, where there are high winds,  production cost decreases. The majority of usable wind resources in Romania are found in SE of the country and in the the mountain areas.

Existing maps with the wind potential  of Romania helps developers to determine where and when wind resources are suitable for wind energy production.

Development projects for electricity from renewable sources are based on the principles of sustainable development, because they support energy sources that do not pollute, and thereby contribute to reducing emissions of greenhouse gases, especially significant reduction in CO2 emissions and, during this time, producing more than 50 times more energy than was required in their development, manufacturing equipment, installation and implementation.
