Korodi: 4.5 billion EUR in savings will come in the next 20 years from wind
With the intervention that, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Mr Korodi had yesterday in Vienna Ministerial Conference organized by the Central European Initiative (CEI), presented the progress made by our country in the field of renewable energies, shown in a communicated to the MMSC.
There is no doubt that the economic, social and development work in this sector are interconnected. For example, the wind energy sector in Romania, the numbers speak for 4.5 billion euros that will take our economy over the 20 year life of the wind turbines installed, with over 10,000 jobs highly qualified, created during the construction and operation of wind farms and more than 3 million annually for local communities, land revenue resulting from utilizing these eolian parks, "said Attila Korodi.
Referring to the development in this sector, Korodi said that "in 2012 almost 23% of gross energy consumption of our country came from renewable sources. Increasing the share of green energy supplied experienced a spectacular development every year, so that at the end of 2013, the share of renewables in electricity consumption has reached 40%. "
Environment Minister noted that the development of renewable energy sector in Romania has gone from two favorable conditions "on the one hand, our country has a potential of renewable energy that made global experts to place Romania on the 10th in world ranking of most attractive countries for investment in wind energy, and 13th in the world as to the total potential of renewable energy sources.
Beyond this potential Romania found solutions for investors establishing a national support scheme that generated patter development of this sector. "
