"(…) Our officials began to feed and encourage a public concern on the impact of new sources of electricity price. Authorities either are not able to determine the impact, not understanding the market mechanism 12 years since its creation, or are willing to put price increases coming from other manufacturers due to inefficient alternative energy. So, according to calculations of ANRE, this year we would increase renewable energy bill by 12 euro / MWh (53 Lei / MWh). During 2015-2017, the rise would be 25-30 euros / MWh, with a maximum of 30 euros / MWh in 2015”, according to Constantinescu.
Energy expert noted that, after 2015, "is expected to decrease, due to market cheaper green certificates”, and in this year it was not really an energy price increase of only 2 euros / MWh
"In fact, increasing the wholesale price is much lower, at most of one euro / MWh after our rough estimates (…) This is because the alternative energy market is putting out the expensive thermal units and the closing price of energy is set to less than 40 euro / MWh. Therefore, for the consumer, renewables could be responsible for a rise in the price of 2 euros / MWh, the remaining 10 euro / MWh collected from the consumer being hidden by the authorities to grant the benefit of thermal units, that we pay not work ', says Jean Constantinescu.
According to estimates, by the end of this year, wind power generation capacity will amount to an installed capacity of 3,000 MW, more than twice higher than the plant at Cernavoda. While the nuclear power plant generates 17% of Romania's electricity, green energy share in national production will not exceed 8% in 2013, says energy expert.
Alternative energy sources are renewable resources other than hydro facilities with capacities greater than 10 MW. In the foreground is wind energy.
